New Albion and Towns Close Farm

The  New Albion Wind Farm will be situated on agricultural land at Towns Close Farm, between Pipewell and Rushton, close to the A6003 and at the edges of Corby. The  renewable energy scheme comprises 7 turbines.

Each  wind turbine will have an installed generating capacity of 2.3 megawatts (MW), adding up to a total installed generating capacity of 16.1 MW for the whole project.

The field to host the renewable energy scheme is predominately being used as arable land. The landowner will still be able to continue his present farming activities as the wind turbines will take up very little space and as such it will be possible to harvest crops right up to the base of the turbine. Infinergy will also endeavour to use wherever possible the existing farm tracks to avoid unnecessary tracks to each wind turbine.
