Benefits
Although renewable energy projects such as this will hugely benefit the environment and thus help to secure a stable future for our children and children’s children, Infinergy believes that the local community should have a direct and immediate benefit from the development of a wind farm.
For instance, during the construction stage of the wind farm opportunities for local contractors will arise. Furthermore we are keen to support the community on local initiatives and therefore propose to set up a trust fund which will be managed by the local authority and local community members.
Infinergy will donate revenue from the wind farm, once it starts to generate electricity, into the fund. Infinergy will donate £2000 per installed MW per year for the lifetime of the wind farm (25 years). This equates to up to £32,200 per annum.
As this fund will be managed by the local community, it will be up to local residents to decide on how the money is best invested back into the neighbouring area. Also, such renewable energy funds, if managed properly, usually attract other funds, making it even more attractive to the local community.
